How SMS Support Works
SMS support allows individuals to text an organization's published phone number to reach customer service, report issues, or request assistance. Messages are handled by the organization using the SwitchBase platform.
Upon sending a message, individuals receive an automated reply confirming their message was received:
Standard auto-reply:
“Thank you for contacting us! A support representative will respond shortly. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for assistance. Msg & data rates may apply.”
Message frequency varies depending on the nature of the support inquiry. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.
Opting Out
Individuals may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, no further messages will be sent unless the individual chooses to opt in again by initiating a new conversation.
Help
Individuals may reply HELP at any time to receive assistance information, including how to contact the organization directly and how to opt out of messages.
Privacy
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented, or disclosed to outside parties.

Required Disclosures
All SMS opt-in materials (signage, web pages, or digital displays) published by organizations on the SwitchBase platform must include the following:
- Your company name
- The phone number to text
- A clear description of what the user is consenting to (e.g., receiving SMS replies related to their inquiry)
- Message frequency disclosure (“Message frequency varies”)
- “Message and data rates may apply”
- Opt-out instructions (“Reply STOP to opt out”)
- Help instructions (“Reply HELP for assistance”)
